Alexander the Great is one of the most famous and influential leaders known on this earth. Alexander was the son of Phillip II of Macedon. His father trained him very well because he knew Alexander had greatness in him. Phillip knew that to be a great leader he would have to be well education so Aristotle became his tutor and gave him knowledge that would help him later. Alexander became fond of some stories about legendary figures. He idolized the hero Achilles and kept a copy of his story everywhere he went. He later took this idolism so far that he used the shield of Achilles’’ for good luck in battle. His father was assassinated at his sister’s wedding. At the time the people were unsure who the rightful leader was, so Alexander went and killed every one who had the chance of taking his crown from him. After he became the definite he asked his people to support his funds and in return he would conquer the lands taken from them and much more. Alexander first regained the land they had lost to the Persians even though they were severely outnumbered by the Persian army.
